The Hokkaido Shinkansen runs on the same tracks as the Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Shin-Aomori, where it branches off to Hokkaido. From Shin-Aomori, the Hokkaido Shinkansen runs to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, where you take a local JR train to Hakodate Station.
